On Friday, January 30th, the MaMBIO research group celebrated an important milestone: the successful PhD defense of Esther Benayas Martín. Her dissertation, “Engineering neural repair: advanced materials for spinal cord injury,” was carried out in the course of the Piezo4Spine project and supervised by Conchi Serrano. Esther received the prestigious “cum laude” distinction, reflecting the outstanding quality and impact of her work.
Throughout her PhD, Esther significantly advanced our scientific understanding of material‑based approaches for neural repair — contributions that have been highly valuable for the overall progress of Piezo4Spine.
