Our coordinator Conchi Serrano opened the new Scientific Seminars series at ICMM-CSIC with a deep dive into some of the most exciting progress in Piezo4Spine.
Her talk, “Piezo4Spine: A Dream for Novel Neural Repair Strategies after Spinal Cord Injury,” explored how advanced materials—such as iron oxide nanoparticles, natural hydrogels, and reduced graphene oxide scaffolds—are being combined into a 3D therapeutic mesh to deliver multiple pro-regenerative signals to injured spinal tissue.
The seminar also highlighted how motor training routines synergize with these materials and shared insights from in vitro neural cultures and in vivo rat models.
